The Goldberg Multimedia Archive is an instructional resource for our faculty and graduate students, currently offering over 11,000 records. We are in the process of adding more records as well as the ability to cross-search several other university collections.
The Archive is open to faculty, staff and graduate students of the History Department and is for educational use only. To access the Archive you will need to have an OSU account and be a member of the History Department. If you are not a member of the Department, please contact us to get access.
A help button is provided on every page of the Archive with an updated help page. Please stop by the Goldberg Instructional Center if you need additional help using the database
Additionally, the search engine now accepts Boolean operators (AND, OR and NOT) as well as the 'sounds like' operator (a tilde '~' after the word).
Please help us keep the Archive as accurate as possible. Tell us when you encounter a mislabeled , erroneous or unusable record so that we can fix it. We also have a quick form on the site to make it easier as well as a link at the bottom of each record's catalog info.
We welcome additions to the Archive's collection. In order for us to upload new records we require the appropriate cataloguing information. Although we can scan small batches of material, we ask that you provide digital copies of your media.
In the next year we will be adding cross-collection searching, allowing users to search the contents of the Visual Resources Library at the History of Art and the Digital Library at the Knowlton School of Architecture. We will also add more search options and image tools, and tools for non-OSU colleagues to use the Archive.
